Iyabo Motilayo Seriki-Bello was born into the family of Late Alhaji Tirmisiy Ayotunde Seriki and Late Alhaja Taiwo Abolore Seriki in Itungbeyin Quarters and Lagbade, Epe.
She attended Christ Church Primary School, Epe, Government College, Ketu, Epe; studied Economics and Mathematics at Lagos State College of Education; graduated with Second Class Upper (Hons) in Bsc Economic(Ed) in Lagos State University, Ojo; and studied MBA(Financial Management) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho. She also holds Certificate in Computer Operations, Preliminary and Final Certificate of JTB/FIRS Courses for Inspectors of Taxes.
Iyabo was employed as Inspector of Taxes II on 23rd December, 1993, and deployed to Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue, rose to the level of Assistant Chief Inspector of Taxes before she was re-deployed to Local Government Service Commission in Year 2008 and re-designated to Assistant Chief Administrative Officer in the same year. She also worked in the Local Government Establishments and Pensions Office, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and promoted to Assistant Director, Grade Level 15 in January 2012 before her re-deployment to Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment in August, 2015. Now, the Director and Head of Employment Department in the Ministry.
She is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI); Fellow, Certified Institute of Public Administrators (FCIPA); Member, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (MIPAN); Member, Nigerian Institute of Training and Development; and Member, Nigerian Institute (Chartered) of Management (MNIM).

Iyabo is married to Lateef Olawale Bello with God’s blessing.
