Mr. Babatunde Fuad Durosinmi-Etti, erstwhile Special Adviser, Economics, to the Hon. Speaker, National Assembly; Former Group Managing Director, Ibile Holdings; and Former Board Member, LASACO Insurance Company; Volkswagen of Nigeria, and University Press Plc. He was also a former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Revenue and Investment. He was born on December 15, 1956 and had his primary school education at Corona School, Ikoyi . For his secondary school education, he proceeded to Methodist Boys’ High School from 1968-1971, and subsequently Igbobi College, Yaba from where he came out with the West Africa School Certificate in 1973, and the Higher School Certificate, GCE A Levels in 1975 respectively.
Thereafter, he attended the University of Lagos, Akoka for a course that led to the award of Bachelor of Science [B.Sc Hons] in Political Science in 1979. He was back at the same institution for his postgraduate studies in 1982 and secured a Master of Public Administration [M.PA] with a bias for Public Policy/Personnel Management. In addition he is an alumni of the Prestigious Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies Johns Hopkins University Washington from where he bagged a Masters Degree in International Public Policy specializing in International Political Economy and Fragile States.
Mr. Durosinmi-Etti started his working career with Arthur Young Anderson & Co. a firm of Chartered Accountants as Accounting Trainee in August 1979. Thereafter, he moved to the Nigeria Television Authority as Administrative Officer from December 1980 to May 1981, after which he left for the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation [NNPC] in June 1981 as Officer/Senior Officer, Admin/Personnel where he worked till November 1988 when he crossed over to the banking industry. He worked as Manager/Senior Manager at the defunct Centre Point Merchant Bank, December 1988 to June 1992, and as Principal Manager at Equitorial Trust Bank Limited, Lagos where he rose to become Deputy Manager, Private Banking till 1996.
Between 1997 and 2006 Mr Durosinmi-Etti ran his private consulting firm Support and Management Services Ltd (SMS) that provided Program implementation and logistic services for International Development Agencies and its implementing Partners such as USAID, World Bank and Management Systems International Washington to mention a few. In 2006 he was appointed as Senior Special assistant to Governor of Lagos State on Revenue and Investment/Group Managing Director, Ibile Holdings Limited, a position he held till August 2011.
In the course of his career, Mr. Durosinmi-Etti was Vice Chairman, Association of African Financial Institutions an affiliate of African Development Bank, and in 2015 was appointed as a member of the Transition Committee, Lagos State. He has also been opportuned to attend several courses within and outside the shores of Nigeria where he delivered several academic papers which include: The Role Financial Institutions as Agents of Development in Africa, ACCRA 2007, and Impact of Aid On Legislative Reform [a case study on Nigeria] 2012.
Having garnered invaluable experience, Mr. Babatunde Fouad Durosinmi-Etti was called upon to be part of Governor Ambode administration team as Honourable Commissioner, Wealth Creation & Employment in October 2015.
He is happily married with children.
